I Love Roses

Hi Bloggers,

I love roses and I love making roses.  Cheery Lynn’s Challenge for this week is Roses, so I had to enter.

This is my entry for the challenge and I have used several of Cheery Lynn’s dies including Dancing Doily Lace Border DL134, the Rose strip dies in all three sizes, Wheat Heads B388, English Tea Party Doily DL101 and Wreath Strip B216.

I used the JustRite Elegant Fronds Background Stamp CL-03695 and stamped it in Dried Marigold Distress Ink on smooth white cardstock and cut out the stamped image.  Then I’ve inked the edge of a larger piece of white cardstock with Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink and adhered the stamped piece to the inked piece and used my Mini Perfect Layers rulers to get a perfect 1/8” border.  I’ve attached the panel to my card front with foam tape.

I die cut my doily and cut it in half, then inked the curved edge with Ripe Persimmon ink and attached it to the left hand side of my card.  The Dancing Doily lace border was die cut from white cardstock and inked with Ripe Persimmon ink and glued just slightly down from the middle of the card.

I tied a bow from seam binding and attached it to the left hand side level with the border strip.  My flowers were die cut from white parchment paper and shaped and glued together with hot glue.  I attached the flowers with silicone and tucked the leaves underneath while the silicone was still wet.  I poked in a few large stamens to look like buds and finished the card off with some pearls.
