Birthday Cards

Hi Bloggers,

Sorry it’s been a while, I’ve had problems with my sight for a while and I finally went to the optometrist and had my eyes checked and was told by the lovely man at the optometrist that my eyesight problems were part of the natural aging process…..yay, I’m getting old (and it sucks)….lol

Anyway…..on to the cards.  I’ve actually got 3 cards today, 1 is a Christmas card (just a quick and simple one) and 2 birthday cards.  I’ve made both of the birthday cards for my Mum one to give to a friend and the other one to her sister.  They are both based on cards that Jacqui from Kookaburra Crafts did in class a few weeks ago.

Both of them use the beautiful Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One S5-181.  I love these, they are so versatile.

The first card uses some Pion Design DP paper Almas Sewing Room and some pearl cardstock that I picked up up from a dollar shop.  The flowers are made from this cardstock and the Sizzix Susan’s Gardens Hibiscus die (I just love those dies too).  I’ve used the hibiscus die to make roses.  The other flowers are from Cheery Lynn including the buds which are from the Rose Strip dies.  The sentiment panel is a Joy Crafts Oval Frame die 6002/0258.

Card number 2 I’ve used Spellbinders Rose Creations for my roses (this die set is definitely in the favourites list for me because you can make way more than roses with it). The smaller white roses are from the Cheery Lynn Rose Strip dies. I’ve used the same die for my rosebuds and the leaves are also a Cheery Lynn strip die. The sentiment panel on this one is a Spellbinders Majestic Elements die Opulent Ovals S5-160.  The designer paper is from a Prima A4 paper stack Romantique Collection.

Last but not least…. a quick and simple Christmas card.  This card was made with some glitter foam for the Christmas tree (die cut with a freebie die on the Australian Simply Cards magazine) plain white and green cardstock and some crochet cotton (it looks a little like twine but it really is crochet cotton).

Thanks for dropping by,
